Club career

Rong Hao would start his professional football career at Wuhan Guanggu and would make his league debut against Shenyang Ginde on May 27, 2006 in a 1-0 victory where Rong also scored his first goal.[1] After that game he would gradually establish himself as a regular squad member of the senior team and eventually play in five further league games.[2] Despite predominately coming on as a substitute throughout the 2007 league season he would continue to develop at Wuhan and by the 2008 league season he had established himself as first team regular. Wuhan, however were suddenly ejected and subsequently relegated during the Chinese Super League 2008 league season and Rong Hao found himself unable to play any football.[3] Still a promising young player Jiangsu Sainty who were a newly promoted footballer club into the top tier were willing to take Rong Hao on loan for the whole of the 2009 Chinese Super League. With them Rong would immediately establish himself as the teams first choice left back and help guide Jiangsu to a mid-table tenth place finish.[4] Once his loan ended Rong was quickly transferred to Hangzhou Greentown and helpped guide the club to a fourth place finish and the chance to play in the AFC Champions League for the first time in the clubs history.[5]

Rong transferred to Guangzhou Evergrande on 26 December 2011, along with Zhao Xuri, Li Jianbin and Peng Xinli.[6]

International career

Rong Hao would make his international debut against Iran in a friendly, which China won 1-0 on the 1st of June 2009 and his appearance would also make him the first Jiangsu Sainty player to play for the national team.[7] After several further friendlies he would quickly establish himself as the teams first choice left back and won the 2010 East Asian Football Championship with them before being called up to the 2011 Asian Cup squad.
